Shukas are a worn by the Maasai in East Africa.  It has become part of their new age identity. Traditionally they wore animal hides but after trade opened up to with the rest of the world they swapped this traditional attire for cotton or acrylic Shukas. It is lightweight, versatile cloth that protects their bodies from the harsh conditions of the Savanna. Commonly red but they do also come in greens blues and purple checkered and striped designs. 

These can also be used as a Table cloth, Throw or Picnic blanket.
